Sorry I've been absent for awhile.
Been feeling a bit lethargic. It was a month ago today that we closed Swept Away on Broadway a month and a half after we opened. The best piece of ART that I've ever been a part of. We started previews on October 29th. We opened November 19th to glowing reviews. The New York Times gave us their coveted Critic's Pick.
We were on cloud 9! Then we began our voyage. We were gathering steam but the houses weren't full. Shows take a few months, but we were confident, given the audience response, that we were fine. Very exciting. Then about two weeks into the run, we were told we were closing December 15th. Huh? We weren't selling enough to make our nut. Huh? We were devastated. But they underestimated this group. We knew what we had. One of our actors was an investor in the show and started talking with the producers. He convinced them to give us two more weeks. Then our ensemble went into overdrive led by our amazing castmate, Rico Lebron. He with the rest of the ensemble started putting out social media content to promote the show. Our goal was if we have to close, then let's make them close a hit! That's just what we did. We sold out the rest of our run. Not a seat to be found. Never in Broadway history has a show announced its closing and then went on to sell out a two week extention. Could not be more proud to be a part of this exceptional group of artists, onstage and backstage. Dream Designers and all under the direction of the genius that is Michael Mayer. Gratitute forever!

In other news, the film I did under the SAG/AFTRA waiver during the strike,Sunfish (and Other Stories on Green Lake), screened two days ago at The Sundance Film Festival. I could not be more proud of our director, Sierra Falconer, who was snapped up for representation by William Morris Endeavor. Yes!! Can't wait to see what she does next.
